Filter Coffee
The single most important specification in a filter brewer is brew temperature. The SCA-certified range is 92–96°C. Most consumer filter brewers brew at 80–85°C — the cheap heating elements cannot reach or maintain the correct temperature. Under-extracted coffee at 82°C tastes flat and sour compared to fully-extracted coffee at 94°C. Check SCA certification before buying any filter brewer above 1,000 SEK.
