Espresso Machines

The key distinction in home espresso machines is the heating system. A thermoblock heats water on demand — fast heat-up, compact, no temperature stability. A heat exchanger runs one boiler at steam temperature and uses a heat exchanger for brew water — simultaneous brew and steam, requires a cooling flush routine. A dual boiler has separate boilers for each, independently PID-controlled — the most precise and the most expensive. Match the machine to your stage in the learning curve, not your aspirational final destination.
